Pound Cake

Butter pound cake with walnut
Traditinal and original pound cake - it contains 1 pound each of butter, sugar, eggs and flour. And contains no salt, baking powder or artificial flavouring.

A most simple and natural cake.  Yummy!


Ingredients


1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2/3   cups butter
1     cup white sugar
4 1/2 tablespoons milk
2     eggs
1/4   cup walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 330F(165F) with oven fan, or 350F(175C) without fan.
  2. Grease a 8x4 inch loaf pan, line with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Beat in flour alternately with the milk, mixing justing until incorporated.
  6. Flod in walnut.
  7. Pour batter evenly inot the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake the cake for 55 minutes, or until a toothpick test passed.
  9. Remove the cake from the oven.  Immediately loosen cake edges with a knife.  Allow to cool in baking pan for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the cake from the pan.  Strip off the parchment paper and let it cool on wire rack.
