| Roast herbed beef tenderloin |
This quantity should be quite enough for 4 persons. But be cautious, it is so delicious that you won't find it enough. At least, this is exactly what I experienced.
This is the first time I roast a beef tenderloin. It is delicious and juicy as that in restaurant. It is really a foolproof recipe! My THANKS to the one that put it to net for sharing.
Ingredients
2 pounds beef tenderloin
1 tablespoons coarsely ground pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
1 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
Directions
1. Tie the tenderloin at 2-inch intervals with kitchen string.
2. Mix the pepper, oil, basil, crushed rosemary, salt and garlic.
3. Rub evenly over the tenderloin. Leave it for half an hour.
4. Place the meat on a greased rack in a shallow roasting pan.
5. Bake, uncovered, at 420 degrees F for 10 minutes. Then continue to bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes more or until beef reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145 degrees F; medium, 160 degrees F; well-done, 170 degrees F).
6. Turn off the oven and cover the meat with a foil. Let it stand for 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
