Tiramisu

Tiramisu
Here comes my love dessert! It's so creamy that we cannot stop eating.

Tiramisu

To make a 3.5 x 11 inch dish, 6 servings.


Ingredients

3 egg yolks
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons white sugar

1/3 cup milk
1/2 pound mascarpone cheese

1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons strong brewed coffee (room temperature)
1.5 tablespoon rum
1 (3 ounce) package ladyfinger cookies
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder


Directions


1.      In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until well blended.

2.      Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.

3.      Boil gently for 1 minute.  Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.  Cover tightly and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.

4.      In a medium bowl, beat cream with vanilla until stiff peaks form.  Whisk mascarpone into yolk mixture until smooth.

5.      In a small bowl, combine coffe and rum. 

6.      Split ladyfingers in half length wise and drizzle with coffee mixture.

7.      Arrange half of soaked ladyfingers in bottom of a 3.5 x 11 inch glass dish. Spread half of mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers.  Then half of whipped cream over that.  Sprinkle with cocoa.

8.      Repeat layers, ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture and whipped cream.  And Sprinkle with cocoa on top.

9.      Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours, until set.
